PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Jodie Blandford, 24, of Perryville died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, in Johnson County, Illinois.

She was born Sept. 9, 1993, in Perryville, daughter of Larry and Julia Hotop Blandford of Perryville.

Jodie graduated from Perryville High School in 2012. She volunteered with the Special Olympics. She attended Southeast Missouri State University.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and she loved nature and to be outdoors. She was an incredible artist, and she enjoyed music and playing the guitar. She especially enjoyed fishing with her dad.

Jodie is survived by her parents; a sister, Holly Blandford of Perryville; paternal grandfather, Chalmer Blandford of Perryville; maternal grandmother, Glenda Hotop of Perryville; and aunts and uncles, Penny and Scott Williams of Cape Girardeau, Mary Blandford of Perryville, David and Patty Hotop of Osage Beach, Missouri, Janis and Roger Lankford of Perryville, Dennis and Sherrie Hotop of Perryville, Jeanna Wallace of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Darrin and Dawn Hotop of Denver and Derek and Emily Hotop of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She also is survived by many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Norma Esselman Blandford; maternal grandfather, Merin Hotop; an uncle, Roger Blandford; an infant cousin, Matthew Blandford; and a cousin, Tyler Staral.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

She then will be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Milton Ryan, C.M., officiating. Entombment will be in Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Special Olympics.
