Virginia "JoAnn" Finchum, 77, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home. She was born June 13, 1938, the daughter of Raymond and Onis Clingingsmith Sides. She and Manuel Finchum were married May 23, 1959. JoAnn was an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, where she was a door greeter and a member of the Senior Adult Group. She worked at International Shoe Factory in Jackson for 33 years and Rubbermaid in Jackson for 15 years...

Virginia "JoAnn" Finchum, 77, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 13, 1938, the daughter of Raymond and Onis Clingingsmith Sides. She and Manuel Finchum were married May 23, 1959.

JoAnn was an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, where she was a door greeter and a member of the Senior Adult Group. She worked at International Shoe Factory in Jackson for 33 years and Rubbermaid in Jackson for 15 years.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Debbie Mitchell of Jackson, Donna Brown of Garland, Texas, and Tina Price of Jackson; six grandchildren, Anthony Mitchell, Keisha, Devin and Tyler Brown and Travis and Makayla Price; and three brothers and four sisters, Zelma Robison of Jackson, Richard (LaDora) Sides of Jackson, Don (June) Sides of Pocahontas, Pat (Wilson) Craft of Jackson, Shirley Kester of Jackson, Jerry (Linda) Sides of Pocahontas and Joyce (Randy) Newell of Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Manuel Finchum.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Slatton officiating. Burial will be at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Pocahontas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Bethel Baptist Church.
