ANNA, Ill. -- Joan Newell, 68, of Anna died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 3, 1932, in Marion, Ill., daughter of Earl and Ruth Fowler King. She was married to Raymond Newell.
She was a former employee of Olin Industries and Allen Industries in Herrin, Ill. Her hobby was her three beloved dogs, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna.
Survivors include her husband of Anna; a daughter, Nancy Street of Ozark, Ill.; two sons, Richard Law of Hazel Park, Mich., and Timothy Law of Dongola, Ill.; a brother, the Rev. Earl King of Marion; a sister, Annie Butler of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Revs. Roy Hill and Tim Blankenship will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.
