Joan Goines Hileman Mulkey, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at her home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Anna, Illinois, daughter of Lester Paul and Velma Gladys Barker Fear. She and Herbert S. Mulkey were married March 24, 1999. He preceded her in death March 7, 2011.
Joan is survived by three children, LaDonna Clymore, Phillip P. (Beth) Goines, and Tommy E. (Michelle) Goines; four grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Gibson, Heather Goines (Shawn) Evans, Valerie (Andy) Rhymer, and Michael (Madison) Goines; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Preston, and Ethan Rhymer, Payton Strobel and Anniston Evans; a stepdaughter, Ann Mulkey (David) Farley; two stepgrandchildren, Kaitlyn (Tom) Stearns, Kirsten Farley; and a great-stepgrandchild, Caleb.
Also a sister, Joyce (Dale) Bell; a niece, Debbi Dale (Scotty) Ford; a nephew, Scott (Erica) Dale; a great-nephew, Scotty Joe Ford; a great-niece, Sabrina Woolsey; two aunts, Violet Brimm and Nina Merriman; her beloved dog, Scooter; other relatives and many friends.
During her career, Joan was a cosmetology instructor and director at Shawnee Community College, a real estate agent and Illinois Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. She was co-owner of CREA Appraisals in Jonesboro, Illinois, before retiring and moving to Cape Girardeau in 1999.
Joan also owned and operated Hair Graphics in Vienna, Illinois, and Jonesboro.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Goins officiating. Interment will be in Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
