Joan Eggimann, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Portageville, Mo., to August and Frances Warnecke Recker.
She and Richard Eggimann were married July 15, 1950, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Joan was past president of the Women's Council and a member of the Jaycees Auxiliary and the Exchange Club. She has since been retired from Southeast Missouri State University.
Survivors include four daughters, Amy (Dale) Beechem and Cindy Patrick, both of Cape Girardeau, Jean Ann (Mark) Uvodich of Overland Park, Kan., and Frances (Rory) McMahon of Parkland, Fla.; a son, Patrick (Kelly) Eggimann of Overland Park; a sister, Tillie Boswell of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
