Jo Shoen

Jo A. Shoen, 72, of Mound City, Ill., died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born in Mounds, Ill., May 16, 1935, daughter of Esaus and Myrtle Schellenberger Finchem.

Shoen was a member of First Baptist Church in Mound City and was retired from Shawnee Development.

She is survived by a daughter, Melesa McGill of Ullin, Ill.; two sons, Don Shoen of Mound City and Darrel Shoen of Scott City, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three half brothers and a half sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Mound City, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
