Jo Ann Wadlington-Strong of Scott City, daughter of the late Elmer "Happy" and Goldia Brooks Wadlington, was born June 6, 1941, in Scott City and departed this life Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at her home, as she had desired, at the age of 82. Jo Ann Wadlington- Strong

Jo Ann Wadlington-Strong of Scott City, daughter of the late Elmer "Happy" and Goldia Brooks Wadlington, was born June 6, 1941, in Scott City and departed this life Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at her home, as she had desired, at the age of 82.

She was a former employee of Blair Industries and member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, where she was saved and baptized at a revival in her teen years.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Kenny (Nancy) Strong of Jackson and Kevin J. Strong of Scott City; six grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Amber, Tanner and Trestin Strong and Zac Kurgas; nine great-grandchildren, Eliana, Elijah, Harmony, Kennedy, Eleanor, Evelyn, Jayce, Eli and Magnolia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss her.

Besides her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Carol McElmurry.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Father's Arms Fellowship, 1400 Main St. in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the church, with pastors Kenny Strong and Jeremy Sells officiating.

No flowers are needed, but donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Scott City in her honor.
