Jo Ann Foster Houseman, 77, of Springfield, Missouri, went to be in the Lord's loving arms Friday, July 25, 2014, in Springfield.
She was born May 2, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, to Charles and Pauline Foster. She and James D. Houseman were married Dec. 20, 1963. To this union, two children were born, Kevin Dale and Kraig Alan.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband, James; sons Kevin and wife Juli and Kraig and wife Brenda; and six grandchildren, Joshua Houseman, Jordan Houseman, Jacob Houseman, Morgan Houseman, Josh Dungan and Caleb Dungan.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Church and her relationship with Jesus Christ were central to her life.
She and her husband loved to travel. She had an amateur radio license, and was an accomplished seamstress with quilting and Swedish weaving as specialties. Jo Ann was a spirited woman, full of fun and laughter. She will be sorely missed by all. We love you, Mom!
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield.
The service to celebrate Jo Ann's life will be at 10 a.m. with Randy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network in Jo Ann's honor.
