Jimmy Clay Yarbrough, 74, of Jackson died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born March 6, 1938 in Clay, Ky. to George Alvah and Clara Hellen Lively Yarbrough. He and Betty A. Brooks were married June 26, 1959 in Shawneetown, Ill.

Mr. Yarbrough retired from retail sales, and in his retirement worked as a handy man. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Betty A. Yarbrough of Jackson; and two daughters, Julie M. Yarbrough of Los Angeles and Leslie (Eddie) McDaniel, of Bozeman, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Lynwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Operation Christmas Child, Women's Shelter Project or East St. Louis Activity Center c/o Lynwood Baptist Church.
