Jimmy Joe Metcalf, 78, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born in Boise, Idaho, Dec. 15, 1944. On July 29, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Hunsaker at the Church of God in Chaffee, Missouri, and she survives of the home.
Jim was a union cement mason and retired from Local 797 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After retiring, Jim and Linda settled in Cape Girardeau and became owners of their small family business, SEMO Smokes.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Linda; a son, Mark Daniel Metcalf of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Diane Watkins Metcalf of Jackson; a grandson, Chris Metcalf Jr.; granddaughter, Shannon; and four beautiful great-granddaughters, Zoey, Bristol, Grace and Irie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Christopher Eugene Metcalf Sr.; five brothers and a sister.
As Jim requested, there will be no services, but the family does appreciate your love and prayers during this difficult time.
