Jimmy Ray Henson, 61, of Scott City died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.

He was born Oct. 4, 1946, at Grand Tower, Ill., son of Howard Ray and Margie Dale Ellet Henson. He and Esther Romero were married May 15, 1970, in Las Vegas.

Henson was a crane operator for Proler International in Coolidge, Ariz., and a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; his father of Anna, Ill.; two sons, Ernie Ray Henson of Long Beach, Calif., Brian Henson of Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Brenda Groh of Hesperia, Calif.; a brother, Bob Henson of Grand Tower; two sisters, Joan Clover of Scott City, Kay Ellet of Bluffs, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother and a sister.

A memorial service and military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Bryan McAlister will officiate.
