BERNIE, Mo. -- Jimmy Cokley, 71, of Bernie died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 19, 1929, at Flint, Mich., son of Eddie and Hattie Cunningham Cokley. He and Theetta Owens were married Nov. 19, 1949, at Piggott, Ark.
He was a truck driver for Motor Car Transport in Pontiac, Mich., before retiring.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Orlie Cokley of Dayton, Ohio, James Cokley of Waterford, Mich., Charles Cokley of Silverton, Ore.; three daughters Loretta Dodd and Stephenia Cokley, both of Bernie, Karen Burner of Powe, Mo.; a sister, Edna Carlisle of Raymore, Mo.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Masters officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
