Jim Foster Waters, 78, of Arkadelphia, Ark., died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

He was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Ida, La., son of Albert Joseph and Addie Driggers Waters. He married the former Helen Horton.

Formerly of Cape Girardeau, he was a supervisor with Potashnick Construction Co. 37 years.

He was a deacon at Hollywood Baptist Church, member of Woodmen of the World and Ida Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Brenda Green and Leta Arnold of Arkadelphia; a brother, Willie Waters of Hunytown, Ala.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia from 6-8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gary Turner and Don Gates will officiate.
