SIKESTON, Mo. -- James William "Jim" Wagner, 65, of Sikeston died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Walker, Minn., son of Jack and Ann Kepic Wagner. He and Shirley Phillips were married Jan. 28, 1957, in Chaffee, Mo.

Wagner was employed by U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier at East Prairie, Mo., and worked in the processing center in Cape Girardeau. He worked seven years at C.B. Forms in East Prairie. He was formerly of East Prairie.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston and its Legion of Mary, a volunteer at the parish center, team leader of RCIA, founding member of 50s Plus Club, and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3151.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Wagner of Columbia, Mo., Tim Wagner of East Prairie; two daughters, Terry Grider of Kokomo, Ind., Angie Wagner of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Monsignor Stephen Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Blodgett Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Missouri Military Honor Guard.
