SIKESTON -- Funeral service for James E. "Jim" Morgan of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Keith Wilson will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Morgan, 53, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at his home.
He was born April 1, 1940, in Monmouth, Ill., son of Fred L. and May Fichel Morgan. He and June Hinkle Freeman were married July 28, 1967, in Rock Island, Ill.
Morgan formerly worked at Hedrick Concrete Products Co., and was retired from Gold Bond Ice Cream Plant. He was a member of Clayton Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jason Morgan of Sikeston; a stepson, David Freeman of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Debbie Hudson of Marble Hill; his stepfather, A.J. Richter of Tennessee, Ill.; four brothers, Frederick Morgan of Rock Island, Earl and Gerald Morgan of Des Moines, Iowa, Robert Morgan of West Virginia; three sisters, Shirley Pierce of Sneads Ferry, N.C., May Diehl of Bushnell, Ill., Judy Ripple of Des Moines, and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.
