SIKESTON -- Service for Jim Mac Emerson will be held Monday in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here at 1 p.m. Monday, with Rev. John Gregory, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church of Oran, officiating. Burial will be in Old Morley Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight.

Emerson, 76 years old, of Morley, died Friday, April 5, 1991, in St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 27, 1914 at Morley, son of Frank and Mae Smith Emerson.

On Jan. 21, 1939, he married Ava Evans, at Morley. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Jim Emerson, of Sikeston; daughter, Reda Ann Frohock of Bridgeton; a sister, Janice Edmiston, Manchester; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church at Oran; member and past Worshipful Master of the Morley Masonic Lodge, 184; He was a member of the Shriners Club; and the SEMO Shrine Mountain Patrol; He was past president of the Morley Rotary CLub; past president of Morley School Board; past chairman of the Scott County Child Welfare Advisory Board; and he served 25 years as Democratic Committee for Morley Township.

He was active in Boy Scouting. He was treasurer of the Old Morley Cemetery Association.
