EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for James R. "Jim" Holder of East Prairie will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Holder, 90, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

He was born Aug. 3, 1908, in Bardwell, Ky., son of Orville and Pearl Todd Holder. He and Beatrice McClendon were married Jan. 22, 1935.

Holder lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He retired from International Harvester Co. in St. Louis, and then operated a mechanic shop in East Prairie. He was a member of First Church of God in East Prairie.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronnie Holder of East Prairie; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
