Jim L. Blue, 78, of Randles passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at his daughter's home in Gordonville.
He was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Randles to the late Floyd Dee and Bulah Beatrice Spain Blue. He married Joyce G. Smith on June 13, 1959, and she preceded him in death May 22, 1990.
He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. Jim worked 38 years for the local Carpenters Union in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include one son, Barry Clayton (Mandee) Blue of Benton, Mo.; two daughters, Dana Jane (Jeff) Houseman of Gordonville and Julie Dee (Michael) Blue-Petry; one sister, Opal Vessels of Randles; six grandchildren, Elaina Dee Eshelman, Jessica Suzanne Houseman, Neelye Taylor Blue, Justin Philip Eshelman, Cheyenne Denae Blue and Emmie Jo Blue; three step-grandchildren, Mikayla Bryce Jackson, Madison Grace Poat and Mallory Shea Poat; and one great-grandchild, Emma Dee Eshelman.
Jim also was preceded in death by one son, James L. Blue Jr.; one granddaughter, Nichole Richelle Blue; one grandson, C.J. Blue; three brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel, with the Rev. Eric Hodge officiating.
Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
