Jewell Verble

ANNA, Ill. -- Jewell Pauline Verble, 72, of Anna died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.

She was born March 22, 1933, in Pacific, Mo., daughter of Ray and Stella Jones Slone. She and Harry Verble were married Jan. 20, 1951, in Dongola.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Anna Moose Lodge 1346.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Wayne Verble of Creal Springs, Ill.; three sisters, Vinita Shelton of Greenwood, Miss., Lillian Wright of Scottsdale, Ariz., Velda Moore of Davis Junction, Ill.; a brother, Garvin Slone of Chadwick, Ill.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and a brother.

Friends may call from noon to 1:45 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, Ill.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at McGinnis Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating.
