JEWELL NELSON

CHARLESTON -- Jewell Lillian Nelson, 81, of Charleston died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Calvert City, Ky., daughter of Will and Annie Lee Dodge Lindsey. She and Robert Adron Nelson were married Aug. 17, 1933. He died Dec. 18, 1979.

Nelson had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Charleston.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Nelson of Charleston, Spencer Nelson of St. Louis and Larry Nelson of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Annabelle Griggs of Charleston; two brothers, Floyce and Clifton Lindsey, both of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Burl Britt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
