Jewell Eveline Killian, 79, of Scott City died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 27, 1927, at Zalma, Mo., daughter of Mounse Edward and Lena Caroline Abernathy Carter. She and John R. Killian were married Feb. 24, 1946, at Zalma.

Killian had been a seamstress at Ely Walker. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Scott City.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Eddie Killian of New Bloomfield, Mo., Arnold, Steve and Rob Killian of Scott City, James Killian of Shelton, Wash.; a daughter, Evelyn Buffington of Scott City; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Mo.
