ANNA, Ill. -- Jewell Jackson, 86, of Anna died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at City Care Center.
He was born April 17, 1915, in Union County, Ill., son of Marcellus and Shalottie Adams Jackson. He first married Lucille Barker, who died Nov. 21, 1982. He later married Virgie Barlow.
Jackson was a construction worker many years. He was a member and past president of Laborers Local 1330 in Anna. He attended Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro, Ill.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Doris Whiteside of Dongola, Ill., Pam Gee of Carterville, Ill.; three sons, Ronal Jackson of South Elgin, Ill., Gary and Roger Jackson of Anna; a stepdaughter, Beverly Galbraith of Anna; a stepson, Corky Barlow of Anna; two sisters, Eleanor Nelson and Ruth Graham of Anna; a brother, Paul Jackson of Anna; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, two brothers, and four sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
