Jewell Herzinger

Jewell Doylene Herzinger, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 6, 1927, at Swinton, Mo., to Doyle F. and Ina Jewell Davis Strauser. She and Everett E. Herzinger were married June 30, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.

Jewell was a 1945 graduate of Central High School. She was a bookkeeper 30 years with National Stockyards National Bank and was a longtime member of Red Star Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Dale (Carolyn) Strauser of Waynesville, Mo., a sister, Jean (Carmon) Collier of Scott City; a sister-in-law, Judy Young; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and an infant daughter, Deborah Kay.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
