Jewell I. Ellis, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1933, in Kurreville, the daughter of William and Josephine Ates Welker. On Oct. 4, 1987, she married Jack F. Ellis in Arkansas.
She was a nurse's aide at Cape La Croix Nursing Center, before working at McDonald's Restaurant.
She belonged to the New Life World Outreach Center.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Mike Estes of Mountain Home, Ark.; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Estes of Cape Girardeau and Susan Parr of Festus; a stepson, Mark Ellis of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Leo "Red" Welker of Fruitland; two sisters, Ilene Niswonger of Millerville and Modean Hahs of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
