ANNA -- Jewell W. Basler, 89, of Saratoga died Thursday, June 5, at her home near Anna.
She was born Feb. 11, 1908, at Thompsonville, Ill., daughter of Oscar and Della Ramsey Waller. She and Dennis J. Basler were married July 21, 1930 at Cobden, Ill.
Basler was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna and was a retired mental health technician at the former Anna State Hospital.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Barbara Stute of Anna, Patricia Gallois of Jacksonville, Ill., and Linda Basler of Carbondale; two sons, Dennis I. Basler and Gerry Basler of Anna; a brother, Budd Waller of Anna; two sisters, Kathleen Casey of Anna, and Betty Sweitzer of West Land, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call today from 5-8 p.m. at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Miller will officiate with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.
