Jewel Putz, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 1, 1926, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of Gustav and Lucy Spraker Sander. She and Robert Wells were married in 1944 at Commerce. He died in June 1954. She married Truman Putz in 1959 at Scott City. He died in 1978.
She and her husband Truman Putz were owners/operators of Rialto Theater. Later she worked for Mid South Towing as a cook for 12 years, retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and quilting.
She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Steve Wells and wife Linda of Jackson; a sister, Mamie LeDure of Commerce; three grandchildren, Tony, Jody and Justin Wells; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Hannah Wells; and a daughter-in-law, Linda S. Wells of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, John "Butch" Wells; daughters, Carol, Sheila and Debroah Wells; two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
