Jewel Godwin
JACKSON -- Funeral for Jewel Mae Godwin of Milton, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Truelove will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today.
Godwin, 76, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Oakman, Ala., daughter of William Chesley and Clemmie Mae Steadman McLain. She and Clyde A. Godwin were married Aug. 3, 1945. He died Dec. 3, 1968.
Godwin was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and was formerly of Jackson.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Godwin of Belding, Mich., Bill Godwin of Richmond, Va., Sam Godwin of Cape Girardeau, James Godwin of Montgomery, Texas; six daughters, Winiefred Dokes of Macon, Ga., Judi Johnson of Bessemer, Ala., Jane Leyva of McAllen, Texas, Pam Bond of Milton, Becky Godwin of Jackson, Jean Bloodworth of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
