BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Mrs. Jewel E. Lewis of Bloomfield will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Paul Catterton will officiate, with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis, 95 years old, died Friday, Dec. 7, 1990, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1895, at Bloomfield, daughter of Larkin and Charlotte Lockard Moore. She married Steve Lewis Dec. 12, 1936.
Mrs. Lewis was educated at Southeast Missouri State University and Washington University in St. Louis. She was a teacher 40 years, having taught in Scott, Mississippi, Washington, Andrew, St. Louis and Stoddard Counties, retiring in 1958. She was a member of the United Methodist Church here.
Survivors include her husband; two nieces, Laverne Smith of Bloomfield, Mary Morton of Grand Junction, Colo.; a nephew, Wade Moore of Bloomfield; several great-nieces and nephews.
