JEWEL CHANCELLOR

BLOOMFIELD -- Graveside service for Jewel Alpha Chancellor of St. Louis will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bloomfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Dallas Reagan officiating.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home after 10 a.m.

Chancellor, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, in St. Charles.

She was born June 29, 1907, at Portageville, daughter of A.O. and Ada Millner Riles. She first married Steve Baker, who preceded her in death. She later married Charles Chancellor, who also preceded her in death.

Chancellor was formerly of Bloomfield, but had lived in St. Louis the past 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Wima Ping of St. Louis, Virginia Clayton of Maryland Heights; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.
