Jessie Darrel Devenport, 89, of Millersville passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Bessville, Missouri, son of the Rev. Jessie Odell and Vallie May Lincoln Devenport. He and Joann Amelia Windeknect were united in marriage June 28, 1985, and she passed away Jan. 18, 2017.
Darrel started working at the age of 14 with his father before going to work for Rickard Construction. He loved taking wagon rides, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Devenport of Leopold, Missouri, and Darrell Devenport of Marble Hill, Missouri; daughter, Connie Sue Morris of Kissimmee, Florida; sisters, Velma Dean Fulbright of Cape Girardeau and Doris May Fulbright of Jackson; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Joann Devenport; parents; and sister, Wilma Williams.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev Elijah Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
