SIKESTON -- Funeral for Jessie Blalack of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kelley Grubbs will officiate, with burial in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.
Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. to service time.
Blalack, 83, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Harrisburg, Ark., daughter of Jesse Henry and Katie Florence Presley Workman. She and Jewel Blalack were married July 5, 1938. He died Dec. 8, 1974.
Blalack had owned and operated a farm. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church and its Golden Age Choir, and was president of her Sunday School class many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Brown of Cape Girardeau, Demetra Dollar of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
