CAIRO, Ill. -- Jessie Mae Allen, 88, of Nashville, Tenn., died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Richland Place Health Care Center in Nashville.
She was born June 13, 1912, in Mantachie, Miss., daughter of Ben and Nora Berryhill Raburn. She married John Allen, who died in 1969.
Formerly of Cairo, she was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, John Allen of Jeffersonville, Ind., Harold Allen of Nashville, James Allen of North Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Rebecca Allen of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
