Jesse Wayne Stady, 77, of Jackson died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Monticello House.
He was born Saturday, June 11, 1938, in Advance, Missouri, to Jess and Clola Ellen Long Stady.
He graduated from Jackson High School.
He served in the United States Army from Dec. 28, 1960, to Oct. 31, 1981. He was an Electronics Systems Analyst and served three tours in Vietnam. He retired as a SFC after 20 years of service. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and an Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster.
He was a life member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau and a life member of Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 American Legion in Jackson.
Jesse is survived by two sons, Mark Stady of Dalhart, Texas, and Brian Stady of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; a daughter, Lizabeth Stady of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Vaughn Stady; three sisters, Jean Burns, Doris Bollinger and an infant sister, Wilma Lee.
Military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Ford and Sons Funeral Home-Jackson.
