Jesse Daniel Masterson, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in Fort Madison, Iowa.
He was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Bridgeman, Mich., son of Daniel Thomas and Ida Beatrice Lewis Masterson.
Masterson worked in the telephone industry and was a member of American Legion Post 63 in Cape Girardeau.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Sturgeon of Mountain Home, Idaho; a daughter, Patricia Kittel of Wausau, Wis.; two brothers, Russell Masterson of Marble Hill, Mo.; Bob Masterson of Calimesa, Calif.; a sister, Helen Laabs of Columbia Station, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with Col. Lee Hickam officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 63 and Missouri Honor Team 1081.
Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill is in charge of arrangements.
