LICK CREEK, Ill. -- Funeral for Jesse Masters of Lick Creek will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. James Lashley will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at Peoria.
Friends may call at the chapel Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna was in charge of local arrangements.
Masters, 79, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Peoria, son of Theron and Nancy Oaks Masters. He and Mary Virginia McCormick were married Sept. 15, 1945, in Peoria.
Masters was a construction supervisor 32 years with N.E. Finch Construction Co. in Peoria.
He was a member of American Legion Post 2910, VFW Post 15014, and Operating Engineers 649 in Peoria. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Leroy Masters of Spring Bay, Gary Masters of Pekin, Mike Masters of Ozark; three daughters, Barbara Johnson and Peggy Smith of Peoria, and Debbie Barrar of Anna.
Also surviving is a sister, Dora Widdows of Peoria Heights; six brothers, Ed, Andy, Bert, John, Donald and Phil Masters of Peoria; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
