JESSE L. REEVES

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Jesse L. Reeves of Mounds, Ill., was held Saturday at the Church of Christ in Cairo. The Rev. John Shelton officiated, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge. Jones Funeral Home at Villa Ridge was in charge of arrangements.

Reeves, 76 years old, died Thursday, March 14, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 25, 1914, at East Prairie, son of the late James and Julie Boyd Reeves. On May 6, 1950, he married the former Wela Bolen Carr at Paragould, Ark.

Reeves was a member of Church of Christ in Cairo and the senior citizens' Smiles One program in Mounds. He retired from the Valley Steel Co. in January 1979.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Eddleman of Mounds; a son, Joel Carr of Mounds; a brother J.B. Reeves of Boonville, Ind; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
