JESSE GAINES

WYATT -- Jesse K. Gaines, 77, of Wyatt died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born June 14, 1919, at Dexter, son of William Ezra and Gladys Douglas Gaines.

Gaines lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was manager of Conn Oil Company at Wyatt until retiring in 1993.

He married Nellie Pauline Smith Oct. 12, 1942. She died in 1990. He then married Virginia Dotson Williams April 15, 1994.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jesse Gaines of Joliet, Ill., and Billy Gaines of Memphis, Tenn.; six daughters, Nellie Crisel of Memphis, Wanda Larimore of Russellville, Ala., Linda Thomas of Wyatt, Brenda Stinson of Nashville, Tenn., Sharon Gaines of Terre Haute, Ind., Marilyn Pauline Kellema of Villa Grove, Ill.; a stepson, James "Sonny" Willis of Benton; one sister, Wanda Pearson of Charleston; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, grandchild and great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
