JESSE ALDRIDGE

COBDEN, Ill. -- Jesse Aldridge, 99, of Cobden died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at City Care Center in Anna, Ill..

He was born March 31, 1901, in Union County, son of James and Elizabeth Kerr Aldridge. He and Edna Sheppard were married Aug. 23, 1922, at Jonesboro.

Aldridge was a former Union County Commissioner and a retired farmer. He was a member of and a deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Nolen Aldridge and Jessie Aldridge of Cobden; one sister, Aileen Goddard of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two step-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
