Jesse A. Koen, 66, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 26, 1924, at Esther, son of Jesse F. and Marguerite Smith Koen.
He married Vera Baker Nov. 27, 1946 at Jasper. She survives.
He was a member of the Marine Corps during World War II and played in the Marine Corps band.
From 1978 to the time of his death, he was the owner/operator of the Atomic Transit Company in Cape Girardeau.
He is a member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the administrative board, the membership committee and the Men's Club.
Other survivors are a son, James Koen, Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Susan Koen, Ste. Genevieve and Sharon Scholl, Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Charles and Kenneth Koen, both of Esther and John Koen, Potosi; one sister, Melba Thomsen, St. Louis; and two granddaughters.
Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, where service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. James Dace will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
