CHARLESTON -- Jerry Suggs Ware, 78, of Murphysboro, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro. She was born April 5, 1918, in Houston, Miss., daughter of Ezekiel and Ada Bell Myers Atkinson. She married Frank Ware. Ware lived in Charleston 47 years, moving to Murphysboro in 1991. CHARLESTON -- Jerry Suggs Ware, 78, of Murphysboro, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro.

She was born April 5, 1918, in Houston, Miss., daughter of Ezekiel and Ada Bell Myers Atkinson. She married Frank Ware.

Ware lived in Charleston 47 years, moving to Murphysboro in 1991. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Murphysboro.

Survivors include her husband of Charleston; seven sons, Joe Lipsey of Murphysboro, Andrew Suggs of Paducah, Ky., Robert Suggs of Danville, Ill., James and Kerry Suggs of Charleston, Terry Suggs of Chicago, and Jerry Suggs of Memphis, Tenn.

She is also survived by six daughters, Carla Williams, Christine Drakeford amd Carla Atkinson of Murphysboro, Dorothy Lillard and Anna Pitman of Danville, Lorraine Davis of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 57 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Charleston after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. J.L. Posey and Robert L. James officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, with Sparks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
