Jerry Ohmes, 80, of Metropolis, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at her home.
She was an officer with Illinois Department of Corrections 17 years, and also worked at Players Riverboat Casino in Metropolis. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen P. (Linda) Ohmes of Metropolis, Joseph (Eileen) Ohmes of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Willard L. (Janet) Wernecker of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Matthew S. (Tera) Ohmes of Carterville, Ill., Hayden M. Ohmes of Metropolis, Stephen A. (Dawn) Wernecker of Desloge, Mo.; and a brother, Ford W. (June) Stevens of Farmington, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Oma Barker Stevens; husband, Edwin P. Ohmes; and a sister, Irene Edwards.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
