Jerry Milam McLaird, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, son of Clarence and Beulah Trickey McLaird. He and Sherry McLaird were married Sept. 28,1990, in Cape Girardeau.
McLaird served in the U.S. Army nearly 22 years. He was a member of VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Sean McLaird of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Kelly (Jason) Ervin of Crystal City, Mo., Amber McLaird of Arnold, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Cindy (Richard) Lukefahr of Cape Girardeau, SFC Deborah Moore of England; a brother, George (Faye) McLaird of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Earmel Lansdown of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rocky Tallent officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838.
