BERNIE, Mo. -- Jerry Everett Lucas, 59, of Bernie died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo. He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Flint, Mich., son of Louie and Avenell Rodgers Lucas. Lucas lived in Michigan many years, moving to Bernie six years ago. BERNIE, Mo. -- Jerry Everett Lucas, 59, of Bernie died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.

He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Flint, Mich., son of Louie and Avenell Rodgers Lucas.

Lucas lived in Michigan many years, moving to Bernie six years ago. He was a drywall installer until retiring due to ill health.

Survivors include a son, Barry Lucas of South Carolina; two daughters, Kristen and Kara Lucas of Flint; two brothers, Kenneth Lucas of Flint, Dale Lucas of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Patsy Ostrander of Montrose, Mich.; and a friend, Norma Orr of Bernie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
