JERRY L. HENTE

Jerry L. Hente, 64, of Sarasota, Calif., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, at his home. He was 64 years old.

Born Aug. 29, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of Milton and Hazel Penny Hente. He was of the Catholic faith and had served on the Sarasota County Commission from 1980-1988.

He had a master of photographic craftsman degree and had received numerous awards from the Professional Photographers of America. In 1978, he was selected to sit on a judging panel for the association.

He owned a photography business until he lost his eyesight to diabetes in 1991.

Survivors include one daughter, Jerri Hente of Jacksonville, Fla., and a special friend, Edna Dick of Sarasota, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, Jeff Sippy officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the service begins. Burial will follow at Memorial Park.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. today in Sarasota.
