NICEVILLE, Fla. -- Jerry Glenn Johnson, 87, of Niceville died Sunday, May 1, 2022, in Thebes, Illinois, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 20, 1935, in Tipton County, Tennessee, to John and Ruby Johnson. He and Rosati Hans were married July 19, 1956.
Jerry received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University and his graduate degree from the University of Illinois.
He was a captain in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at Scott Air Force Base.
He was the regional superintendent of schools in the southern five counties of Illinois until 1993.
He was an avid golfer and pilot, and loved riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Rosati Johnson of Niceville; son, Mark (Kathy) Johnson of Thebes; grandchild, Lauren Johnson of Jackson; and great-grandchild, Ian Johnson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
A private graveside service will be at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Illinois.
