Jerry Halter

Jerome M. "Jerry" Halter, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Jerry was born July 7, 1945, to Michael and Loretta May Messmer Halter.

He was a very proud member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Jerry was fondly known by many in the community and had a host of acquaintances. This sweet and gentle man will be missed by many.

Survivors include two brothers, Lester and Larry Halter of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Halter.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Brian Straus officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Saint Francis Foundation to assist with funeral expenses.
