Jerry D. Followell Sr., 59, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1938, in New Hamburg, son of Howard R. and Mabel Gladys Riehn Followell. He and Shirley Shackles were married March 20, 1954, in Auburn, Ind.
Followell lived in Cape Girardeau most of his life. He had worked at International Shoe Co., and was shop superintendent at Associated Building Center for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Followell Jr. of Chaffee; three brothers, Bill and Marvin Followell of Michigan, Jack Followell of Arkansas; two sisters, Joann Kesterson and Betty Goode of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Pringle officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
