SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jerry Lynn Bell, 68, of Sikeston died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Sikeston, son of Carter and Faye Chittenden Bell. He and Martha Oswalt were married June 30, 1957, in Lilbourn, Mo.
He was a retired steelworker and had served in the National Guard. He was a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as deacon. He was also a member and past master of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM, a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star 137, and member of Eagles Lodge 3319, Elks Lodge 2319 and Steelworkers Local 7686.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven Bell of Sikeston and Jeffrey Bell of St. Louis; two brothers, Bill Bell of Pensacola, Fla., and Anthony Bell of Memphis, Tenn.; and a sister, Anita Hodges of Sikeston.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Tom Bass and John Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
