CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jerry Lee Ayers, 67, of Chaffee passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 11, 1950, in Cape Girardeau to the late Marion and Dorothy Seabaugh Ayers. He married Sharon Schrum on March 29, 1974, and she survives of the home.
Jerry was a retired, self-employed house painter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Ayers; four sons, Johny Sample of Polar Bluff, Missouri, Michael (Colleen) Ayers of Paducah, Kentucky, David (Susan) Ayers of Cape Girardeau and Daniel (Lori) Ayers of Chaffee; three daughters, Michelle (Jerry) Laxton of Scott City, Kim (Tyler Dannenmueller) Harper of Chaffee and Ja'net (Randy) Sadler of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Ronnie (Janette) Ayers of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Ayers Jr., and a sister, Cathy Bowen.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jack Owens and Larry Taylor officiating.
