Jerome J. "Bud" Seyer, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the Lutheran Home surrounded by family.
He was born May 11, 1943, in Cape Girardeau to Otto and Corena Schott Seyer.
Jerome retired in 2009 from the Cape Special Road District. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and the Harley Owners Group. He was a family man and loved to ride his Harley. He was an avid gardener, nature lover and he loved and rode horses.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Joyce Groseclose Seyer of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Brian K. (Laura) Seyer of Fruitland and Jason J. Seyer of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Eugene Seyer of New Hamburg; eight sisters, Mary Ann Terry of Jackson, Virginia Ross of Benton, Mo., LaWanda Toungbough of Holland, Ohio, Janet Jarrell of Cape Girardeau, Jane Bilodeau of Fenton, Mo., Linda Hurt of Cape Girardeau, Nancy Amelunke of Columbia, Mo., and Dorothy Seyer of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, Brent, Andrew, Austin and Holden Seyer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Cornelius "Col." Seyer.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral.
